I went to see Cats tonight with David and a bunch of people from my dorm. I can write about the outstanding show itself later, but here are some piccies of the gorgeous interior of the Opera House (but not the theater itself .. photography prohibited in there =/).

Opera House Front Entrance

This is the part that everyone gets to see – no ticket required =). You’re looking at the exit, from the point of view of being inside. Right outside, to the right, is Chinatown; to the left is Macy’s and the rest of Downtown Crossing. Yay for Washington Street (which is actually kinda unseemly ..).

This can be seen on the second floor, at the far end (outside the right-hand part of the theater).

Here’s a bit of the lobby ceiling, so that you can see the gilding detail.

Yours truly!! Absolutely no posing ability!

And finally, two shots of the gorgeous gorgeous main lobby in its full splendor.

Of course, the theater itself is 100x more astounding, but you have ta be there to experience it yourself ^_^.
