Dream Diary

7/21/10, nap

Had a dream that I was in a game of sorts taking place in the vicinity of the Prudential Center, although the lobby was barely recognizable and the environs were populated with Farmer’s markets and gardens. The objective was to arrive at certain special signs on which there was a particular clue written, and the response would be a code, although I don’t remember how the code worked. The special signs could be anywhere and therefore required searching to locate.

Subsequently, I was going down an elevator in the Prudential Center with my girlfriend and some workers, except that there was an extensive basement network consisting of several hundred floors. At one point, the elevator came out into a road and traveled through a parking structure before resuming descent. The pressure changes were substantial and very uncomfortable. Additionally, the “stop” button did not work. The ending point of the elevator was Logan Airport after approximately 5 minutes of descent (~500 floors). One man who had just finished his shift got onto the elevator and remarked that the elevator hadn’t made a full trip for a long time. On the way back up, I ended up at a square plot of land with a shed in the center of a crop field. I bumped into a wizard on the roof of the shed and was forced to fight. The catch was that in the areas of the field marked with black tar, I wouldn’t be attacked by the wizard, but there were natural fiends that would attack instead. The regular-looking areas of the field were the opposite. I was then awoken by a phone-call from a friend.

7/22/10, just before waking up

I was sitting through the entire first act of the Second-Year Show, except it was a completely different composition. The structure was much more akin to a ballet, with constant scoring. There was some dialogue, spoken, but no sung lines. There were about four songs which then appeared in different renditions and arrangements, the most striking being a slow (too slow) solo horn line. The choreography was also very beautiful, although I did not understand why there was a flying girl chasing a guy pushing an armchair around the stage. Predictably, the audience was perplexed and openly unhappy about the production. Oh well! The songs were actually very beautiful …
